Why not take a step back from the hustle and bustle of daily life and take care of yourself?  Come and join us (Greta and Veena) on our snugly, relaxing winter haven of peace and calm.  We have devised this fantastic chilled out retreat to help relax, nurture, and rejuvenate your mind, body, soul and spirit especially during these difficult times!

The idea behind this 4-day winter weekend retreat is for you to immerse yourself in nurturing you, by giving you the gift of space and time away from everyday life, to cherish you!  We can’t pour from an empty cup.  This is a time to re-fill your cup, a cup full of self care and love.

This ultra special 4-day weekend retreat is centered around private time for rest, meditation, visualisation, gentle yoga, the art of stopping, laughter and having fun. Eat nutritious, scrumptious food including sessions on healing spices, plus the role Ayurvedic cuisine and practice plays to restore balance to your being.

This location in Cumbria situated in an Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty; has been specially chosen to experience the gifts nature has to offer. The country and coastal walks are designed to give you me time, to unplug rest, relax and recharge. We believe as a result of joining us you will leave invigorated, happy, refreshed, rested, calmer and at peace.

DAILY ROUTINE

Friday begins with YOU stopping! Welcome to this Winter Land Retreat – drop ya bags, kick of ya shoes and STOP – you have arrived. We will take care of you.

Saturday starts with grounding and meditation with Greta, Gentle Hatha Yoga with Sam followed by breakfast and then we head to our opening ceremony where we connect with nature, ourselves and each other. Lunch followed by the Art of Stopping and meditation. Before dinner, immerse yourself in the world of Indian spices and their healing properties.

Ending the day with Yin Yoga and night cap.

Sunday includes practising the Art of Stopping and letting go through meditation, green therapy in nature.  Engage your senses by creating restorative teas, tonics and tinctures. After a walk by the beach, end the day snuggling by the fire with a comforting hot chocolate and marshmallows with kindred spirits.

Monday begins with gentle meditation followed by breakfast. We head out to nature for our closing ceremony to connect and reflect, affirm and celebrate ourselves, each other and what we have learnt.

 

AFTER THE RETREAT  

There is the option to stay for a further night or two after the weekend retreat ends. This gives you a further opportunity to continue to rest, play and explore the beautiful Lake District, including the country and shoreline walks, the stunning sunsets towards the Scottish hills from the front garden.  Alternatively, take a trip out to the historical market town of Cockermouth or venture out to the lakeside town of Keswick and the historic city of Carlisle. Or if you fancy it, just hang out and chill in the stunning grounds of Edderside Hall.

MEET YOUR HOSTS  – GRETA AND VEENA 

Veena Josh  Director of award winning Curry On Cooking meal kits, cookery retreats and courses in Spain and the UK.  Veena is a former BBC TV/radio broadcast journalist who has managed a radio station, ran a radio production company, a training consultancy and opened Manchester’s first organic delicatessen and coffee shop; Wild at Heart.

She is passionate about food and loves nothing more than cooking up a storm in the kitchen and sharing her knowledge of how to do it yourself through online and one to one tutorials and lessons.  Her expertise is in spices, not only how to mix, blend and cook with them but how to create healing tonics, teas and foods.

All the food at the retreat will be cooked by Veena’s fair hand! Prepare your taste buds for a taste sensation!

Greta Sherratt is a trained Mindfulness Meditation Teacher, Reiki Master, Shamanic Practitioner and Addiction Recovery Guide. She works from a holistic perspective to bring mind, body, soul and spirit into balance. Greta delivers sessions and events throughout the year to celebrate the Equinoxes and Solstices working in nature using Green Therapy – connecting to the elements through fire ceremonies; working with wind, air, earth and fire. Greta works one to one with clients along with delivering bespoke codependency, self care and meditation courses.

EDDERSIDE HALL – CUMBRIA

Like us, you will fall in love with this stunning country house perfect for our weekend retreat! Take time out to explore the lawned garden or just relax in the walled, fenced and gated grounds with plenty of sitting out area and drink in the breathtaking views of the Skiddaw mountain range.

The accommodation is cosy and spacious has been restored with great attention to detail and style, retaining character and furnished comfortably. There’s an  open fire, in the living room to snuggle up with a hot drink and a book.

EXTRA SESSIONS

Greta and Veena are available for one-to-one session on Monday afternoon.

Reiki, mediation plus Indian and Ayurvedic cookery lessons – sessions cost £35ph per hour.

COST

An initial 50% non-refundable deposit is required to secure a place and the remaining balance  is payable by Monday 31st January 2022. Cancellations up to Monday, 7th February 2022 will receive a 50% refund. Cancellations after this date are non-refundable.

If the retreat has to be rescheduled or delayed due official covid restrictions we will refund your monies minus £20 for processing fee.

Please advise us of any dietary requirements at the time of booking we will do our best to accommodate.

All levels welcome.

All sessions are optional and some will take place out in nature so please come prepared with warm clothing and appropriate footwear.
